Everyday Jewelry Favorites

Michele, David, Miranda, and Kendra the gang’s all here!

Everyday Jewelry Favorites- I have always loved jewelry. I feel like it is the final sparkle to your outfit and the frosting on the cake. One statement piece can change a simple outfit from boring to wow. And I’m obsessed with the look of the layered dainty necklaces, that is so on-trend these days. It reminds me of the charm holder necklaces that were all the rage in the 70s, which I may or may not still own. Although statement and trendy pieces are fun, I find myself reaching for these tried and true classics on most days.

Michele Watch

My husband gave me this Michele Diamond Watch for my 50th Birthday and I absolutely LOVE it and wear it every day. I love how you can change out the bands. I started with the black leather band, and have added on more colors throughout the years and enjoyed switching them out constantly. A couple of years ago though I got the two toned silver and gold band and haven’t changed the band since! This watch is on the pricey side, but once I calculate my price per wear (PPW) I know I have gotten more than my money’s worth. Definitely a great investment!

David Yurman Bracelet

Another birthday gift from my husband was this beautiful David Yurman bracelet. It plays a starring role in my daily bracelet stack, so you know my PPW makes this one a great investment as well. I just love a good bracelet stack and it’s not complete without this beauty!

Miranda Frye NecklaceEveryday Jewelry Favorites

I saw this Miranda Frye “Stephanie” necklace and just knew I had to have it. It fits in perfectly with the layered dainty necklace trend, but it’s the classic and simple design will never go out of style. I get so many compliments on it!Everyday Jewelry Favorites

Nordstrom Initial Necklace

I love an initial necklace, especially when it has a little sparkle. This would also make an amazing and custom gift for any lucky lady in your life. Christmas will be here before we know it!

Mantra BraceletEveryday Jewelry Favorites

Another daily addition to my bracelet stack is this Mantra Bracelet. Mine says “she believed she could so she did”. It is daily positive reminder of your goals, dreams, or accomplishments anytime you look down at your wrist. They have many mantras that would make for a perfect gift!Earings

Kendra Scott Earrings

I am normally a stud or small hoop kind of girl but these Dani Kendra Scott earrings won me over. And thought they would be so cute with work outfits. I find myself wearing them way more than I ever thought I would and I get some many compliments on these as well. These are my everyday jewelry favorites.

Ok, you caught me. I still own that charm holder necklace from the ’70s. I had such fun collecting all the charms. Maybe it’s time to put it back in my rotation?

Friday Favorites-Beauty Routine & Products

This week Friday Favorites are all Beauty routine and products I use every day. I do like to try new products but these are a constant staple in my beauty routine.

Laura Mercier-Secret Brightening Powder and Tarte Shape Tape

Beauty Routine

Beauty Routine

I have always struggled with dark circles under my eyes and people always think I look tired. Unfortunately, it’s genetic & I can’t do much about it. But I think I have found the best concealer and powder combination. Tarte Shape Tape with Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder! I never have to touch up throughout the day-it’s become my holy grail combo!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

Beauty Routine & Products

I use this makeup setting spray every single day and I never have to touch up my makeup, it seriously stays put all day. I don’t recommend it, but if you want to try this first you can pick up the travel size version.

Estee Lauder Foundation

Beauty Routine & Products

I used to wear Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation years ago and not sure why I stopped? We got reacquainted about a year ago it was like meeting up with a long lost friend. I believe they updated the formula and I absolutely love it, lasts all day, great coverage and doesn’t look too heavy.

Mac Lip Liner

Beauty Routine & Products

I have used Mac Lip liners for probably 20 years. I started with Spice and it was the only one ever wore by me. And over the few years, I added different shades of nudes. Whirl, Soar and Boldly Bare. The great thing about lip liners is you can change the color of lipstick just by changing the liner or fill your entire lip with the liner and top off with a gloss which is very long-wearing.

Hope you have a great weekend! Cheers!

Random Posts and Friday Favorites

Love these sunflower colored denim pants from Target, fun pop of color to take any outfit to the next level, perfect for fall and happens to be my favorite flower too.

Nespresso Milk Frother

My milk steamer on my espresso machine isn’t working well any longer so I purchased a Nespresso milk frother off Amazon and it makes the absolute best foam for my morning latte!

Olly - The Restful Sleep

Olly Sleep Gummies

I had been suffering from little insomnia awhile back and I found these Olly Sleep gummies which have worked really well. It says to take two but I just take one and it works really well for me.

Coop - Latte and Lemon Drops

Coop pillow

Since I am getting better sleep because of the Olly Sleep Gummies I was in need of a new pillow so I gave the Coop Pillow a try and I’ve fallen in love! The pillow is adjustable-it comes with an extra bag of foam so you can add extra or take foam out to get it just right, kind of like Goldilocks.

The 5 Second Rule

5 Second Rule

I am a big Mel Robbins fan and recently downloaded the 5 Second Rule on Audible. I found myself being more productive almost immediately. And love to write Random Posts and Friday Favorites whenever I get time. You can get the book or on Kindle as well.

Have a great weekend! Cheers!

Fall Fashion Look Book

I know it’s a little early to post a fall look book, but I saw a leaf fall the other day so summer must be over!  Fall is my favorite time of year and fashion is my favorite as well. I could wear jeans, sweaters, and boots every day. I did purchase a few items during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and am anxiously awaiting some cooler weather to wear them because we are heading into Indian Summer here in California so unfortunately, it is still very warm.  Also, I found a few good fall basics at Target during a couple Target runs. Can’t believe that I end up in the women’s section when I’m only supposed to be grabbing paper towels!

Universal Thread at Target is one of my go-to brands, great quality for a great price. This flannel is my new favorite color combination of the season blush, cognac, and navy.

Sam Edelman never fails. Fall fashion has a little bit of a Victorian trend this year so when I spotted them on the Nordstrom Anniversary sale I knew I had to have them and they look super cute with the flannel blouse.

I happened to pop into TJ Maxx while out of town and this soft cognac-colored cardigan basically jumped into my cart. I don’t have a link but did find one very similar at Nordstrom. It doesn’t have the $19.99 price tag but maybe you can find one at your local TJ Maxx?

The target for the win again! I have been having a major Goldilocks moment looking for a pair of distressed jeans and found this Thread Up pair at Target. They are comfortable, have the right amount of stretch and distressing, and they’re affordable…just right.

Love this belt with the great price tag on Amazon, it is a dupe for the ever-popular Gucci Belt and perfect colored leather for fall.

This the season for a good basic cable knit sweater. I got this during the Nordstrom sale and I am just patiently waiting for the weather to cool off to wear it.

This is the perfect off white thermal henly for layering. I also got this during the sale, I am thinking I need a couple more colors.

Do you know those days when you are taking your sweater or jacket on and off?  When the weather is cool in the mornings and warm in the afternoon? That is when I love a short sleeve sweater perfect when the weather can’t make up its mind. Unfortunately, I can’t find it online but maybe you can find it in your local store? I have linked one I saw at Nordstrom which is similar.

I have always loved a pop of leopard and this year it is more popular than ever. It was time to change up my phone case, I thought? Do you change your phone case with the seasons?

This is round one of my new Fall Fashion Look Book additions, round two coming soon!

Happy Fall Y’all!

Wearing white after Labor Day

I was recently in Oregon with my bestie and we did a little shopping in McMinnville. McMinnville is the cutest little town if you’re ever in the area. Do you love Wearing white after Labor Day? I found this cute lightweight hoodie sweater and had to have it.

This reminded me of a graphic tee from the ’80s or was it an album cover? It had matching joggers but I thought to carry it with white (like worn here) or colored jeans, or grey joggers would be cute too.

wearing white Fashion Rule

I know no one would like to wear but I still love my favorite Madewell white jeans. Does anyone really follow that rule anymore? On my shopping list is some winter white denim that I can wear with some of my new fall items, I am thinking it would be crisp and perfect for that monochromatic look. Now I need to find them!

Fashion Rule

Maybe these for fall and winter?

Hope you are finding some new fall fashion basics while wearing white after Labor Day.

I have found through my Orangetheory journey that accountability is the key to my fitness and healthy living lifestyle. Luckily their app is so helpful in keeping me accountable because if I don’t cancel a class within 8 hours before the start time I will be charged a $12 cancellation fee and nobody wants to pay that additional fee on top of our monthly fee!

Orange Theory

I have also learned that even though I attend classes 4 times a week, I must continue to move more and eat healthy in order to see results. I’m sad to report that once women reach 50 or go through menopause, whichever comes first, they have a harder time losing weight.

That sad news brings me to my new experiment: more accountability.  Although I have lost inches and become more toned after joining Orangetheory a year and a half ago, I still would like to get a little leaner. I ran across a story about a woman and her FitBit challenge. Which got her moving more which led to increased weight loss so I figured I would give it a try. My old Fitbit no longer worked, so I picked up the Fitbit Inspire. Which seemed to be the best fit from their vast array of products. It’s super easy to use, and I purchased the clip which lets me clip it to my pants or my bra to keep it hidden. You can wear it on your wrist too, but I prefer the clip because it doesn’t match my wrist stack!

Fitbit Inspire HR Heart Rate & Fitness Tracker, One Size (S & L bands included), 1 Count

Fitbit Inspire Accessory Clip, Official Fitbit Product, Black

I’ve read that walking 10,000 steps per day, paired with sticking to your recommended calorie intake, should allow you to lose 1 lb a week. My FitBit helps me track my steps and I also use the app My Fitness Pal which helps me track my calories. And it pairs with my FitBit so it shows me my net calorie intake after my steps get factored in. It even keeps track of my water intake- talk about accountability. My husband says “that sounds like a lot of work”, and he’s not wrong. But guess what- he bought one too and now we are tracking together. Not only does this allow us to hold ourselves accountable, but we can keep each other accountable too. They do say it’s always best to have a buddy on your fitness journey.

It may seem simple, but it’s actually pretty difficult to hit 10,000 steps in a day. I usually average 4,000 steps per class at Orangethoery. But that leaves me with 6,000 more steps to hit.

There are some days when I’m in my car on a lot of sales appointments (I am an outside sales rep) so it’s really difficult on those days to get to 10,000. But I’m trying to push myself to hit it more days. But I’m certainly not ashamed to pace around the house in my slippers to get the last couple thousand steps. I’m not hard on myself on the days that I don’t reach my goals. Because I’m proud that I’m trying and holding myself accountable to move more. Stay tuned and I will keep you posted with my results!

Target Haul and Try On

Target Haul and Try On- It was a typical Saturday morning. I started out at Orangetheory, made a quick stop at Starbucks, and then ran into Target to just pick up a couple of items. With my latte in hand, I decided to cruise by the women’s clothing department. Well so much for just picking up a couple of items. The new spring fashion collection sucked me in and I found myself dropping item after item in my cart.

I am always drawn to anything in this sunflower color, maybe because my favorite flower is the sunflower. It just makes me happy.

Also, love this pumpkin color & loved the front tie on this one. I can see this for spring, summer, and fall with a cardigan.

I grabbed this black & white gingham blouse immediately after I spotted it. Another item that can either be dressed up or down, which is totally my style. I just love basics that I can wear for work or more casual on the weekends.

I was at an event recently and saw this jumpsuit on a friend of mine. Who looked absolutely great in it, and I knew I had to have it. It’s super cute for spring and summer with wedges or sandals and I can also dress it up with a blazer.

If you haven’t noticed, dusty rose/mauve blush is everywhere this spring. I love blazers so this was a win-win and a must-buy!

These mules are perfect for spring and summer to add that touch of linen to your outfit.

A couple of items I wanted were out of my size, so I hopped on to place an order and they should be arriving soon.

Surprise- another sunflower colored item. This was the first item spotted by me, when I ended up with all the other items.

Last but not least are these fabulous leopard slip-on espadrilles. As you probably know by know one of my obsessions is anything leopard- it adds such a fun element to any outfit. I’d seen them on a few Instagram posts and I’ve been lusting after them ever since. Unfortunately, they were out of my size in the store because I can’t wait to wear them. Follow me on Instagram and I will post once I receive them.

If you are looking to spruce up your spring/summer wardrobe make a Target run. They have some really cute things that won’t bust your budget!

Happy Shopping!

Just add layers and accessories!

Just add layers and accessories-You know those days when look in your closet and think I have nothing to wear when you have a closet full of clothes?

Just add layers and accessories

Depending on if it is a workday or a casual day it is all about layering and accessorizing. Pick out your favorite pair of jeans or trousers if you need to dress it up a little and a basic T-shirt.

Now just add layers! A pair of booties, your favorite cardigan or jacket, a belt (love the little front tuck look), jewelry and your favorite handbag. Depending on the weather adding a scarf would also be another great accessory. You just elevated your look with very little effort starting with basics. You need to just add layers and accessories.

Fashion & Beauty

The key is to always have basic wardrobe staples to create multiple looks. With trends always changing I hate to spend too much money on pieces that may not work the next season. So I always get creative with how to add in trendy pieces without breaking the bank. If you are wanting a designer item to think “price per wear”, meaning will it cross over several seasons or for years to come? Will you wear them frequently? Is it a wardrobe staple?

Fashion & Beauty

Now get creative, create some super cute outfits and be a layer slayer!

Instagram Fashion Round Up

Instagram fashion round Up

I just love this Chanel inspired jacket. They are perfect for work and fun to pair with jeans.

I don’t normally like patterned tops, I usually buy solids. Just loved the navy and mustard combination the lace insets on this top. This color isn’t on the website any longer so must be sold out.

Instagram Fashion

I had a camel coat on my wish list for a while and I was happy to found this in Calvin Klein. One on sale at Macy’s after Christmas. I have worn it with trousers for work and also jeans and sneakers. It is so fun and versatile.

This look was a little out of the box for me with the cropped sweater vest. But, I really liked adding another layer. Unfortunately, I don’t see this on the website so must be sold out.

This was from a day of shopping in San Francisco with girlfriends on my birthday. We always have to stop in at Gucci and see our amazing Sales Associate Jennifer. She says a quick “Hello” and quickly returns with champagne on a silver tray which makes for such a fun day at Gucci. I had my eye on this Gucci belt for some time. So I thought it would be the perfect day to finally make the purchase. I absolutely love it!

Lululemon On the Fly Pants is one of my favorite purchases in 2018. And this is not only versatile but also comfortable and dresses up or down pant.

Latest Trends

Tie-dye is on trend this year. I found this thermal sweater at Macy’s, perfect for weekends with jeans!

They fit great and truly the most comfortable jeans I have ever owned. These are Instagram Fashion Round-Up from stylish women in the world.

12 Amazing Gifts for Her

and This year’s gift guide features a few items from my own wish list alongside some items that someone special would love. Several items are also great for avid travelers, so don’t forget to think about lifestyles and hobbies while you’re shopping for gifts. Here are 12 amazing gifts for her.

1. I have seen this piece of carrying on luggage by Mark and Graham all over Instagram and just love it but didn’t think the white was very practical.  I’ve reached out to a couple of bloggers to ask their experience with it and they all assured me it cleans up very easily with a Magic Eraser, so don’t fret! However, if white isn’t your preference it does come in other colors. And you can monogram it- bonus!

12 Amazing Gifts for Her

2. A nice tote for work or travel is always a great gift but especially if it is stylish and durable like this one from Madewell!

Amazing Gifts

3. I always bring a magnification mirror with me when traveling and this one I found at Nordstrom is amazing! It folds up like a laptop which makes it super easy to pack. All the others I have purchased in the past need to be packed in a box or bubble wrap, so I may need to upgrade. It also has great lighting and 2 different magnification options.

4. Sticking with vanity mirrors, this one by I Home is great for your at-home vanity. You can charge it so it doesn’t take up a plug, plus it has a built-in Bluetooth speaker so you can answer your phone or listen to music while putting on your makeup. A smart mirror perfect for any tech-savvy lady in your life…now if it could only remove wrinkles!

Gift For Her

5. A denim jacket should be a wardrobe staple in every girl’s closet. I love this one from Kut from the Kloth. The distressing and fading add a level of interest to an otherwise basic silhouette! Amazing Gift

6. Who doesn’t love a soft cashmere sweater? This one from Halogen comes in several colors, perfect for any color palette. Again another wardrobe staple that should be in every closet!

Amazing Gift

7. If you are looking to complete an outfit a scarf is always a great addition. Pair this blanket scarf with the previously mentioned cashmere sweater and a denim jacket for a really special gift!

8. If you know me at all you know I absolutely love a pop of leopard! These Madewell calf hair booties are the perfect addition to any outfit, especially because the wooden heel makes them a little more casual. I am thinking this would look great with that denim jacket, cashmere sweater, blanket scarf and a partridge in a pear tree!

9. A nice cozy robe is always a great gift! I received this Barefoot Dreams Robe I believe 10 years ago! It was one of the first years that Oprah did her favorite things show and everyone went crazy for these robes. The company couldn’t keep them in stock! I was lucky enough to have a friend give me one and a decade later it still looks amazing.  It’s my favorite robe of all time!

10. Dainty necklaces are very trendy and perfect for layering. This Nadri cubic zirconia initial necklace from Nordstrom is an adorable addition to any jewelry collection.  And you can’t go wrong with a personalized gift!

Fashion Trends

11. I have several vests which are perfect for layering. This one from Uniqlo comes in several colors, and at this price point you can pick up a couple to go with any outfit. It also comes with a little storage bag so you can roll it up and keep it in your purse or tote.

12. The grand finale to my 2018 gift guide is certainly a luxury item, but it’s something she would have forever. It may seem small, but it actually holds a surprising amount and the charming tassel adds such a fun touch of whimsy! I personally own this Gucci Soho Disco bag in black, but I’ve got my eye on the nude color and am dying to add it to my collection. Any lady would be lucky to receive this fabulous gift!

Fashion Bags

I had such a great time and putting this list of timeless gifts together. So I hope it will help you with the gift ideas or items to add to your own wish list. Happy Shopping!
